About the Facility:
Grand Junction Regional Center (GJRC) is one of three Regional Centers in Colorado that serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have intensive needs.
GJRC, which dates back to 1919, has both Intermediate Care Facilities/Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (ICF/IDD) homes and Home and Community Based Services Waiver (HCBS Waiver) homes throughout the community. The center serves a diverse population, from people who have high abilities but are a high risk to themselves or others to people who have significant medical challenges.
Programs are individualized to meet varying needs. Services provided range from residential services and health services to mental health intervention. GJRC provides day program, vocational and specialized habilitation, speech, occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation and nutritional services.

About the Position:
This position will ensure that the people served receive the necessary services and support for stabilization. The people served at the Regional Centers exhibit challenging, complicated behaviors that private providers in the community have not been able to adequately address. This position provides evidence-based behavior analytic programming for people served with a range of IDD, mental health diagnoses, physical disabilities, and problematic behavior. This position conducts Functional Behavior Assessments, develops treatment and behavior plans, monitors behavior programs, analyzes data, and provides clinical oversight and supervision to DSTs, who may or may not hold a specific licensure/credential, including Registered Behavior Technician. This position will regularly consult with the other members of the Interdisciplinary and Medical teams at the Regional Center, as well as outside providers, to ensure comprehensive and appropriate treatment. This position will conduct assessments and provide treatment recommendations, provide data and consultation to the Human Rights Committee and interdisciplinary team (IDT), train DSTs and IDT members, and may also be required to appear in court to represent the agency in regard to Imposition of Legal Disability (ILD) hearings and/or participate in criminal hearings and/or probation meetings as part of the IDT. This position may provide agency-wide training, as needed. Duties in this position include:

Special Qualifications:
Required - BCBA certified or ability to sit and pass the exam within 2 years of hire. Inability to do so may result in termination.
Substitutions:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in counseling, psychology, social work or behavior analysis.
Nationally certified as a “Board Certified Behavior Analyst” (BCBA) or certified by a
similar nationally recognized organization or licensed by the State Board of Examiners
Two (2) years of directly supervised experience developing and implementing
behavioral support plans utilizing established approaches including Behavioral Analysis or Positive Behavioral Supports that are consistent with best practice and research on effectiveness for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must (1) disclose that information on the application (2) provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position, (3) provide the employee number from the applicant’s prior State employment. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination and failure to provide this information will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
